11 AM – Ages 14 & Up Audition Workshop
Children’s Workshop – 1 hour (Limit 20 students accompanied by Parent)
The American Monarch Theatre Company (AMTC) is pleased to offer an audition workshop that will make the process easier for Lehigh Valley’s young performers. Artistic Director Colette Boudreaux, a current professional performer and choreographer who began her career at the age of five, and who also has been involved in casting children as well. Executive Director John Andreadis was also a young performer and is a former director with the Pennsylvania Children’s Theatre Company. Both currently teach children’s music theatre classes.
Parents and Children will learn:
· What a headshot and resume should look like
· What clothing is appropriate
· How to prepare—monologues, songs or both
· The difference between and on-camera and live audition; the callback
· How to interact with the audition panel
· What happens if your child gets the part; managing if they’re not cast
Ages 14 & Up Audition Workshop – 90 min (limit 40)
For professional and nonprofessional interested in obtaining a major, supporting or ensemble roles.
Workshop Description: Focus is on the following:
· Most important aspects of an audition (It’s not talent)
· What an audition panel looks for and why
· Appropriate preparation
· Conduct and presentation
· Audition follow-up
· Video/audio v. Live Audition
· Preparing an audition checklist
· Evaluating options realistically
