This amazing 9-piece ensemble consisting of pipers, guitarists, keyboards have fast become a global phenomenon taking their signature ‘Bagrock’ sound to the masses with their unique fusion of rocked up Bagpipes and clever covers of popular songs from all genres like “The Flowers of Scotland” and “Amazing Grace” (done Chilli-style, of course!) — and contemporary anthems like Queen’s “We Will Rock You”, and a fantastic rock medley of Deep Purple’s, “Smoke on the Water”and AC/DC’s “Thunderstruck”. “These are my boys!” – Sir Paul McCartney

An Evening with


Jesse Cook has been called “one of the best rumba-flamenco players in the world.” He’s widely considered one of the most influential figures in “nuevo flamenco” music, incorporating elements of flamenco rumba, jazz & many forms of world music into his work. No stranger to the State Theatre stage, he is a Juno Award winner and a three-time winner of the Canadian Smooth Jazz award for Guitarist of the Year. His 8th recording The Blue Guitar Sessions was released in Fall 2014.

Performing Song of Eva Peron, a journey through dance and music

Direct from Buenos Aires, Argentina, Tango Buenos Aires has become one of Argentina’s great cultural exports, known throughout the Americas, Europe and the Far East as the most authentic and uncompromising representative of the Tango. Song of Eva Perón is a Tango dance and music presentation inspired by the most important feminine character in Argentinian history, Eva Perón. Tracing her epic life – from her ascent to fame in the 1930s to her death in 1952 – this is a sparkling and poignant spectacle that is not to be missed.

Featuring a concert performance by renowned two-time Grammy Award-winning, guitar virtuoso Laurence Juber, Guitarmania to Beatlemania showcase’s America’s oldest and most revered maker of acoustic guitars. Dick Boak, archivist for Martin Guitar, will present an interactive history of the 178-year-old guitar company, showcase an array of historically significant guitars that trace the instrument’s evolution, and highlight the succession of famed guitarists that have contributed to American musical culture. Juber will also discuss his work composing, recording, and performing as the lead guitarist with Paul McCartney’s band Wings, as well as his prolific work as a solo instrumentalist.
