2016 Summer Acting Camp – The Spotlight Is On You!
The State Theatre is proud to present its Summer Acting Camp for the fourteenth year in a row! The State Theatre 2016 Acting Camp will be held July 11-22, with Camp Recital on July 23.
Consisting of 4 separate groups, Grades 1-3, Grades 4-5, Grades 6-8, and Grades 9-12, the two week course is designed to include an educationally based yet fun-filled theater experience. Each child will rotate daily between three classes (Acting, Music and Dance), learning valuable lessons and tips needed in all phases of theater. Some subjects covered include audition technique, presentation, terminology, character development, scene work, improv skills and acting games, choreography, show preparation, and musical technique. Each year is a unique experience!
Classes will begin on Monday, July 11 and run weekdays through July 22. Morning sessions are available from 9 AM – 12:30 PM and Afternoon sessions from 1:30 PM – 5 PM. The last day of regular class (Friday) is a full day, morning and afternoon, for all students. The course will culminate in a student-showcasing recital on Saturday, July 22nd.
Prior to March 31, 2016, The early registration fee for the 10 day course is $235. After March 31, 2016, the class registration fee is $255. This fee includes 2 free tickets to the July 22nd recital. Class size is limited to 25 students per group.
Directed by Denise Crawn of Prestige Productions, the State Theatre Summer Acting Camp will include instructors with extensive experience in theater arts. They work side by side embracing and encouraging those new to the arts, as well as challenging even the most experienced young actor.
